Civil Engineer-Survey Technician

Rum River Land Surveyors and Engineers has been providing Engineering and Land Surveying services to municipalities and private enterprises for the past 40 years. We are seeking a full time Civil Engineer/Survey Technician to join our team. Typical Job Responsibilities:

Assist with the design, drafting, and plan preparation of public and private infrastructure projects. Compute, plot and draft topographic, boundary and construction surveys. Observe and document the construction of infrastructure projects to ensure that they conform to the plans and specifications. Assist survey crew chiefs with survey field work. Perform computations and mathematical checks on engineering and survey projects.

Position Requirements:

• Associates Degree in an accredited Civil Engineering or Surveying Technology Program or equivalent experience
• Possess the understanding of the standards of Surveying and Engineering practice
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Ability to carry up to 40 pounds while working in inclement weather
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be 18 years of age at time of employment
• Attendance, punctuality and reliability are essential requirements
• Possess good interpersonal skills and oral communication skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Desired Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or GIS Software
